Thank Yous
Special thanks to thank Bruce Kramer and Tiger, who I think were
the main organizers of the "Smoker" --- a great meal was had
by everyone at the Waterbury Inn.
And, I can't forget
to thank Bill Alan, who generously offered to
take over one of the duties that makes ATLARGE special -- he's
having the Best Overall jacket embroidered and sent to Tom
Goodwin and is having names engraved on the plaques for all
that wanted them (everyone, I think). I am also grateful to
Bill Alan and Peter Secor for collecting (not too much arm twisting,
I hope) for the most unexpected (but very appreciated) gift
from the group. Thanks everyone!
An event like ATLARGE requires a great deal of support from
the poker room. We are lucky to have Patrice Munafo in our
corner doing lots of work before and during the event.
Marie McHugh did her usual efficient job in getting our
tournaments approved by the CCC & making sure everything
was ready to roll. Poker room manager Kate Dumas not only
made sure everything was great for us, but even played our
winners in two heads-up freerolls!
Most players know that Steve Augst is the Tournament Director
for the Trop, and I think they have the smoothest running
tournaments I've seen yet -- he does a great job. The
task of running our particular tournaments fell to Thomas
Knight and Brian McHugh, and they did a splendid job.
Also, a special thanks to floor person Aimee Thompson
and the great Tropicana dealers! Thanks to Kennedy "K-man" Lemke
for running the ATLARGE mailing list.
Last-but-not-least, I want to thank Will Espin, who has
long been a friend of Internet poker players.
Will wasn't able to make the event this year, but we
hope he will be back with us in 2000.

There are a good many familiar names up there, but two new ones
deserve special mention. We had two players who came
all the way from Europe for ATLARGE, and they both
finished in the money!
Frans Staalkiuien from The Netherlands was 6th in No Limit
Hold'em, while Morgan Bjorkander of Sweden bested me with
a 7th in Stud.
Thanks for making ATLARGE a truly international event!
The Best Overall Player plaque and jacket went to Tom
Goodwin who came in 2nd in No Limit Hold'em and 5th in
Stud. Tom showed this was no fluke by also winning Friday's
$115 buy-in Tropican No Limit Hold'em tournament.
Tom and Linda Lewis were already qualified for Tom Sexton's
Tourament of Champions. We are hoping the Stud winner
David Fruchter will also be able to go and represent ATLARGE.
